An Old Foe Makes an Appearance
While I was unloading the equipment - before the show started - I made a startling discovery:

We had a stowaway!

It's the Evil Ben!!! Mr. Flibble's arch-nemesis!!! Oh No!!!
At first we thought Ben was going to wreck his vengence on Mr. Flibble and do something to ruin the show. It turns out, however, that all he wanted to do was sell some insurance. I quickly dispatched him by closing the lid to the storage bin. We didn't hear from him for the rest of the day.
The Show and My Limited Perspective
Although Pantechnicon kindly offered to periodically relieve me at my table, I did not take full advantage of his offer. As a result, most of my photos at the show were taken at or near my table (I guess I didn't want to stray too far from my precious Altairs). As a result, most of my pictures of the show were taken from my table.
Here's a picture of Kent, who helped PDF set up his table. Quiet guy, but very nice.

Here's mezrabad playing Guitar hero while his son (on the far left) is playing some other game:

Mr. Flibble got easily bored and so he checked out the Digital Press forums during the show:

Here's PDF at his display making some last minute changes:

Um, I guess you want a front view of PDF:

In addition to my table with the Altairs, PDF purchased two other tables at OVGE. Here's a show of the second table which featured some figurines (including cool TRON figurines) and video games:

Mr. Flibble was afraid he might get snatched away by an adoring fan and so he borrowed one of my signs:

Pantechnicon and Pantechnicon Jr. took full advantage of the games available at the show. Here's Alex playing a Commodore game at Flack's table while his dad was at the Galaga arcade trying to beat Funkbuddy's high score.

Here's Flack at his table selling his new book "Commodork: Sordid Tales from a BBS Junkie". I bought a copy and he signed it! It's a good read and you should consider getting a copy for yourself; especially if you were into BBS's back in the day.

Here's Mrsmegamanfan and Mrs. icbrkr while their hubbies take a break:

There was some pretty good artwork at the show too:

Brad Prillwitz had a table in the show that featured the game "Coke Wins!". It was basically a Space Invaders game but it was a nice game nevertheless. Brad had a contest going on with the game. High score wins a bunch of prizes (there was a second and third prize too, IIRC). Guess who won? Pantechnicon!!!

He won a miniature Atari game, a Walmart gift card and some Texas lottery scratchers. Good work Pan!
Towards the end of the show the balloon guy showed up and made all sorts of balloon animals and other things for the spectators. I saw that mezrabad and his son had balloons on their heads but I didn't understand what they were until they posed for me:

Oh! It's Pac-Man and one of the Ghosts! I get it! And mezrabad Jr. was holding a power pill for his Pac-Man! I was hoping mezrabad Jr.'s Pac-Man would eat the pill so I could watch mezrabad Jr. chase his dad around the show. Sadly, it didn't happen. :(
Even Alex got a balloon from the balloon man:

However, I don't think Alex knew about it. We tried telling him that there was an alien on his head trying to suck his brain. Alex didn't listen until, of course, it was too late:

After much screaming and kicking, we were able to get the alien off his head before it did much damage. Alex was a little tired from the atack and so he went to the hotel room to recover. Fortunately this attack happened while the show was ending and so it didn't attract too much attention. (I suspect the evil Ben had something to do with this alien "incident").
After the Show
While Alex was recuperating, Pantechnicon and I were able to quickly pack the Altairs. When we got to the room we discovered that Alex lost a couple of his Pokemon friends. We searched the room and even the elevators but to no avail. Mr. Flibble, on the other hand, was on the ball and was able to recover them for Alex (a big Thanks to Crossbow for his help).

When we were all done taking down the Altairs, we were hungry. Megamanfan wanted to eat Chinese food so we ate at this place:

Here we are after eating dinner (the food was really good):

From left to right: Brad Prillwitz, MrsMegamanfan, megamanfan, Crossbow, Flack, Funkbuddy,Pantechnicon and Alex. Don't forget Mr. Flibble in the middle!
After the meal, Pantechnicon, Alex and I decided to take advantage of the pool facilities at the hotel. Chasing Alex in the pool (and subsequently being chased by Alex) tired us out and we went to bed early:

Awww! Doesn't Alex look cute with his Pokemon gear! (Alex insisted on sleeping on the floor that evening).
We also overslept a little the next morning and got started a little late. Mr. Flibble, on he other hand, was eager to go:

With the exception of a major traffic accident on the road (a semi-tractor rig flipped over) that delayed out journey by at least an hour, the trip was uneventful. Before long we were home and Mr. Flibble got to relax at his favorite spot watching one of his favorite movies (the Dirty Dozen):

This years OVGE was a great show and I'm glad I went. A big thanks goes out to PDF for inviting me to display my Altairs. It was a whole different experience for me to show off my retrocomputing gear and I appreciate the opportunity!
